January 1, 1964, Wednesday
Today was a mess. My 8 year old sister Billee woke me up to watch the Rose Parade. I had the most horrible New Years Ever…..I had to stay home with my 3 and a half year old brother Preston, while Mommy and Daddy were in Palm Springs. I got drunk and than went to bed. Nana came over today and stayed a long time. I couldn’t get dressed until 3:00. Mom and Dad came home at 10:00 pm. As soon as they came home, we all started screaming at each other because my 14 year old sister Donna, got drunk at my 14 year old cousin Chuck’s, house and they both got sick. Now everybody is mad. I wish they didn’t come home. It was wonderful being alone.
Growing up in the LA scene, was being a teenager in the fast lane.

Hahaha – love this story. I like how you being drunk was glossed over because of your sister – neat sidestep!
I hardly write remarks, however after browsing a bunch of responses
on this page Day 1, of my 1964 Diary – Five weeks after President Kennedy was Assassinated | Saffrons Rule.
I do have 2 questions for you if you don’t mind. Could it be just
me or do some of the comments come across as if they
are coming from brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are posting on other online sites, I would like to keep up with you.
Would you make a list of all of all your public sites like your linkedin profile,
Facebook page or twitter feed?
When I initially commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and
now each time a comment is added I recieve 4
emails with the exact same comment. Perhaps there is a means you are
able to remove me from that service? Kudos!
It’s a shame you don’t have a donate button! I’d
certainly donate to this superb blog! I guess for now i’ll settle for bookmarking and adding your
RSS feed to my Google account. I look forward to fresh updates and will share this site with my Facebook group.
