April 17, 1964, Friday. FINALLY GOT SOME HAIRSPRAY!!
While we were at the apartment, Dave Kendal was across the street at the Flying Jib. Doug say’s he loves me. I don’t love him.
Handed in Lauri’s book report as my own. I know the teacher will find out. There was a big Fashion Show at school… it was so bitchen! Doug was supposed to pick me up at 7:00, but didn’t get here until 7:30. I was so mad. I wore Mommy’s dress and coat I gave her for Christmas and my matching shoes. Doug couldn’t get over how bitchen I looked, he just kept staring at me. What am I going to do? He likes me too much! We went out to eat at Frier’s. We tripled with Gary, Dean, Sue and Vicky. After, we went to Doug’s apartment at Toes, it’s so bitchen, a real beach pad…I love it. He drank 10 cans of beer. We watched TV and listened to records. He tried to kiss me. I wouldn’t let him. I kissed him on the way home! He said he doesn’t want to loose me, he acts like we’ve been going together a long time.
With a fresh can of Hair Spray it’s easy to see the effect a great hairdo had on a guy. He had to drink 10 beers to get the nerve to kiss me.
Righteous Brothers – Unchained Melody
Gee do you think Doug was setting me up by taking me to his bitchen Beach-Pad, with a stack of 45’s playing on the Record Player, including the most Romantic song ever…I’m sure!… But, it didn’t phase me!
