He thinks I’m too good for him… translated means… he’s going to dump me.

May 17,1964, Sunday. Was at Hollywood Palace for the first time.

I got to bed at 1:30 and up at 6:00 this morning. Went to the Hollywood Palace to be on a marathon for Patricia Stevens Modeling School. Was mad because we were there from 8:00 until 1:30 and didn’t get on T.V. But we did see a lot of Stars. Went to the beach, saw Howard with his new girlfriend. It didn’t bother me. I really like Dave a lot. Sure hope he likes me as much, but, I can’t tell because he always gets mad at me and we always fight. Sandy Block came down to the beach, but Dave and Jack had left before she came. Pam told me Dave likes me more than he did Jeannie. But he thinks I’m too good for him.

I guess I shouldn’t have talked about myself.  It was a turnoff to guys in 1964.

Dave wasn’t happy with my Star and modeling aspirations.  He wanted a good old girl, someone who liked him for himself, even if he couldn’t afford to take me to nice places.  He was mad I wouldn’t kiss him after he made me get in the trunk of his car to sneak into the Drive-In, because he was broke.
