I must lose10 lbs and get a quick tan before school is out in two week.

June 3, 1964, Wednesday. Really on a diet, “Prisoners of Fat”

Everyone wore orange and white Saffron colors today. Pearl and I are on a diet. We’re going to lose 10 lbs by June 15, when we’re out of school for the Summer. She came over after school and we rode bikes, did exercises and ate a little dinner. After dinner we went for a walk to the park and worked out. Than we came home and did homework. We call our club of two people, “Prisoners of Fat.” Went to Westchester and looked at Bathing Suits. I looked so fat. Went to Save-On’s and got some Quick Tan and took Pearl home. Went to bed so I wouldn’t eat. Felt good.

The pressure was on, Pearl and I only had two weeks before school was out and we’d be going to the beach everyday.  We had to get a quick tan, loose 10 lbs and look good in a bikini.  That was the diet mentality in 1964.

Immediate results, quick fixes and Immediate gratification.

Because this was the mindset for a perfect Summer…. A 1964 Mustang convertible, the beach, bitchen guys and cute girls.

  1. This design is spectacular! You obviously know how to keep a
reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
    Too cool!
