Just like a young Marilyn Monroe, I had my own acting coach

May 28, 1964. Hope Dave and I won’t always be enemies. Didn’t do much today. Came home and studied my script, and went to drama class at Patricia Stevens. It’s so bitchen and Mr. Louis is a great acting coach. I learn so much from just watching him. He said I showed improvement from my last performance. Today was Girls League Assemble. All the officers wore formals and 9th graders came. I wrote Dave a letter today saying I don’t hate him and I want to be friends. Sandy said she’d read it to him. JB called Jannie and asked if she’d go out with Dave. She doesn’t like him. How great is that.

Saffrons Rule Marilyn Monroe Training in Hollywood, 1949 (10)

Marilyn Monroe, 22, takes lessons with acting coach, Natasha Lytess

Because my grandfather worked at MGM for 55 years, and my mother had been a Studio Brat with the best of the best dancing coaches, I knew the importance of having my own acting coach.  Just like Marilyn Monroe when she was  starting out in Hollywood.
