Hermosa Beach 1964, Stones blasting on the radio, Missionaries saving my Soul while I pray to have a guy

October 17, 1964, Saturday. Backwards Dance…ROLLING STONES RELEASE 12 X 15 ALBUM!!

Sandy spent the night and left this morning. She’s going to the dance with Montie. I didn’t go. Pearl and I went to Foster’s in Hermosa Beach. Vicky, Edna, Angie and Lana were there. All these Missionaries came and started preaching and handing our pamphlets. We left and went to two parties, but they weren’t any good. Pearl got really sad, we went down on the beach to the water and looked at the moon. We felt so depressed, because we can’t find anyone. We sat and talked about how lucky we really are when a man came walking towards us and we got so scared we could hardly run to the car, our legs were so weak. We almost got in an accident getting out of there. She stayed all night.

The Stones blasting “Time is by my Side” from my 57 Chevy car radio, while Missionaries preached to us at Fosters in Hermosa Beach… the Surfing Mecca of Southern California.

saffrons rule scaredPearl and I had a lot of guts going down to the beach late at night… and boy did we get the scare of our lives when some man headed towards us.  Our legs went weak with fear and we could hardly make it to my car.  I guess we should have stayed at Fosters and listened to the Missionaries preach to us.
