Surfers and guys in a band – that’s who turned my head in 1964.

January 26, 1964 Sunday Bitchen day.

Got up at 11:00, Lauri picked me up and we went down to Toes. Didn’t see Howard. Drove over to his house. It’s the biggest house I’ve ever seen, he must be rich. Drove back to the Fountain, in Playa Del Rey, where I was supposed to meet him. I was right behind him. Followed him, he stopped, told us to go to Lou’s. It was great there. So many people and Lou was playing Wipe Out on the drums with his band. He’s great! Howard and I laid on the couch, just about to kiss him when Niles started do his Frankenstein act. Lauri and I never laughed so hard. I think Howy was looking at her. It was Bitchen!!! Bryan called, asked me out. Said no! Studied for finals. Bryan kept saying he loved me.
