I think I blew the Miss Culver City Contest because I wasn’t prepared

July 22, 1964, Wednesday. Tonight was the Miss Culver City Contest

Bonnie Cavaliere and I went to Joanne M apartment and saw her new little baby boy. Then went to see Shelia and her new baby. She looks great. The baby is so beautiful. Left and drove to the beach. Cops stopped me, almost gave me a ticket, but I was lucky. Had to be at the contest at 7:30. I looked ugly. My suit was too tight, my hair was straight, then to top it off I was the first one to go up. I think Sandy Block did the best. I know she’ll win. Angie Kamols, Patti Carrol and I went to Roberts Restaurant after. So many boys were there. I know I don’t have a chance to be Miss Culver City. I don’t care, because all I want is Byron.
