Sorry guy, but wearing black pants, white socks and black shoes at the beach in 1964 was a CHOP ON YOU!!

April 11, 1964, Saturday. Hula Hop. Met darling boy and forgot Howard, so glad I went.

Pearl and I went to the beach, we ditched my cousin, Big John because John was wearing black pants, white socks and shoes on the beach. I was to embarrassed to talk to him. Ran into Howard. He was as cold as ice. Hurt my feelings. Pearl and I went out to lunch, then shopping. I got an orange bikini, soooo cute. Pearl got her other to buy her one too. Went home. Tried to think of a way to get out of going out with John (not my cousin.)  I was going to hang him up….. Went to Lauri’s but he called me there, so I had to go. (Someone at home gave him Lauri’s number.) We went to the party at Toes. Everyone was there. Howard, Dave K, Ernie and all the cutest boys at Westchester High. The most darling boy in the world was there and I fell in love with him. His name is Doug Cooper and I’m going out with him next Friday. He thinks I’m so bitchen!!!

Sorry, this was not a good look, walking on the sand in the middle of the day, in 1964.

Now this on the other hand was a very cool look to be seen in at the beach in 1964.
