It gave me a RUSH to tell secrets, but it got me in a lot trouble.

May 9,1964, Saturday. I could like Jack as a boyfriend.

Got up at 9:00 to go to the beach and see what was the matter with Dave. Bonnie Cavaliere came with me. Jack was there, he didn’t break up with Linda. Says he will tomorrow. Everyone was mad because I started to tell Jack that Sandy Block was still going with Richard Cavaliere, so I quickly shut up. Now Jack’s mad at me for leaving him hanging. Dave acted mad at me. Hardly talked to me. Howard came, he’s going out with his old girlfriend Deanne. She’s Jewish too, probable better for him than me. Greg told me all the lies Howard said about me. That I loved him so much I’d let him do anything to me. I hate him so much. I didn’t do that much with him, he’s just bragging to show off. Stayed all night at Lauri’s. Greg, Mike and Jack came over. So mad Dave didn’t come. I really like Jack a lot.

Saffrons Rule he said she said

He said I was so in love with him I’d let him do anything to me…… I said he’s a liar and all we did was make out in the back seat at the drive-in.  That’s how rumors got started.  Guys protected their Bro’s and Girls sorta protected their best friend’s reputation.

saffrons rule rumorsNobody had any communication skills and everyone spread gossip.  It gave me a RUSH to tell secrets, but it got me in a lot trouble….. I guess it was all part of the Teenage Mating Game in 1964.
