Having no responsibilities in 1964, made it fun pretending to be independent.

September 13, 1964, Sunday Drove to the Valley to go to Bob’s Big Boy, but didn’t find a boy for me.

Slept until 1:00. Pearl had to go home because there was a Saffron work day at her house. I stayed at the apartment and cleaned it up. Some boy from UCLA called Pearl… When she went home, her parents wouldn’t let her leave… but she came back anyway. We went out again tonight, this time there weren’t any parties, so we went to Bob’s in the Valley and had dinner. After that, we just bought ice cream, watched TV at the apartment and went to bed ant 12:30. I Can’t believe how wonderful it is to have our own apartment and be able to come and go as we wish. I’m real sad though, because I just can’t find a boy for me. Wish for Byron so much.
